20120407 Security Awareness for Everyone (SAFE) Programme 2013

Dear Students
  1. The Security Awareness for Everyone (SAFE) Programme is back for 2013!
  2. The Ministry of Home Affairs is pleased to announce the SAFE Programme for another year running. The SAFE programme provides a platform to engage students in an enriching experience of coming up with innovative solutions to address safety and security challenges in Singapore.
  3. Under the SAFE programme, shortlisted project teams will be provided with seed money to develop prototypes of their solutions and compete in the SAFE Programme 2013. Home Team officers will also be attached as mentors to the project teams to guide them on the development of the projects.
  4. The SAFE programme will culminate in a competition and an exhibition in November 2013, where shortlisted project teams will showcase their projects at the Home Team Convention 2013.
  5. The programme is open to all students from: 
    • Primary Schools 
    • Secondary Schools
    • ITE Colleges
    • Polytechnics
  6. Projects can cover any of the following areas (Refer to attachment for more details): 
    • Home Team Operations
    • Public Safety
    • Community Engagement
  7. The highlights of the SAFE Programme include:
    • Provision of seed money to develop ideas
    • Home Team Officers attached as mentors to provide guidance
    • Exhibition of shortlisted projects at Home Team Convention 2013
    • Even more attractive prizes to be won this year, including new Best Mobile App Prize.

Closing date for actual submission to Ministry of Home Affiars (MHA) is Friday, 31st May 2013
