Announcement: Moving on...

Dear Students

With effect from 27 November 2012, we will no longer update this blog.

A new Students Blog has been launched, in preparation of the new academic year.

From this year, we will have a Students Blog reside at our very own SST domain and it will be permanently known as: http://studentsblog.sst.edu.sg . You are strongly encouraged to "follow" the blog so that you will not miss out any new announcements there.

Your juniors will attempt Pre-Engagement Activities as you did before they formally join the SST community. Do drop by to provide advice to them if you come across enquiries :)

Do look out for updates in the GoogleSite as well as the blog.

New arrivals @ Info hub...

Singapore Classic Series

Epigram Books is known for putting together well-designed and thought-provoking titles. It began as a division of Epigram, the award-winning design firm, but registered as a separate entity in July 2011 to champion local writing.

 Spider Boys

In the 1950s, the street boys of Singapore caught and bet on their wrestling spiders, gaining not only money but also power and prestige as they won. Spider Boys is a moving and sensual story that draws the reader into turning its pages as if by a beguiling, hypnotic force, alternating arousing and repelling him.

Ricky Star

Ricky Star is about a man who strives for career and financial success at the expense of everyone else around him, including even his wife and daughter. At first successful in his endeavour to climb a series of corporate ladders and becoming very rich, Ricky is, in the end, forced to reckon with his past misdeeds and indiscretions.

Green is the colour

Green is the Colour explores how people of different races face the challenges of living together. The story centres on Yun Ming and Siti Sara falling in love with each other in 1969 period in Malaysia. How do the protagonists resolve their excruciatingly different circumstances in their fight to stay together?

Scorpion Orchid

Scorpion Orchid follows the lives of four young men—a Malay, an Eurasian, a Chinese and a Tamil, against a backdrop of racial violence and political factions struggling for dominance. Excerpts from classical Malay and colonial English sources appear throughout the narrative, illuminating the roots and significance of this period in history.

The Immolation

In The Immolation, Goh’s take on issues of national identity, war, and self-discovery has contemporary relevance not just to Asian readers, but an international audience.
